대한민국 지리정보의 원천 자료를 제공하는 국토지리정보원은 지도를 제작하고 제공할 뿐 아니라 공간정보의 새로운 수요에 대응하고 창출하는 역할을 맡고 있다. 국토를 조사 기록하고 그것이 국민들의 정보 인프라가 되어 다양한 산업에서 활용하기까지의 전 과정을 지원하며, 급변하는 공간정보 취득 기술과 정보 유통 서비스 인프라 기술을 빠르게 선도 적용하고 있다. 다양한 분야에서 진보적인 기술로 공간정보를 가공하고 생산하게 되는 개방형 혁신의 시대에, 공공재로서 공간정보의 역할이 현장에 어떻게 닿아 있는지, 특히 끊임없이 생동하는 도시에서 공간정보의 어플리케이션으로 방대한 역사를 내포한 디지털 아카이브로 의미를 짚는다. 포럼에서 다루고 있는 G밸리, 세운 일대의 기록화 사업의 과정과 결과가 지역 한정적인 정보가 아니라 국가 단위의 공간정보 인프라에서 어떻게 포용할 수 있을지 논의한다.
National Geographic Information Institute has provided the fundamental platform as the main source of national geographic data of Korea. Not just for producing cartographic standards, but for initiating emerging demands of spatial data, the institute supports and leads the new technology and information system. As we encounter the era of open innovation where anyone can utilize and reproduce data, the new role of public assets has to be integrated to the empirical matters in the real field. The spatio-temporal national geographic platform increases the value of the historic digital archive of the city. This talk will discuss how to connect valuable micro local data frameworks, such as G Valley and Sewoon records to the national information system and embrace such aspects as a sustainable national value chain.

사공호상은 국토교통부 국토지리정보원 원장이다. 그는 정보화 시대에 국토 정보 플랫폼의 가치로서 정보의 품격과 신뢰,그리고 미래 산업의 성장 동력으로서의 사회적 역할을 강조한다. 그는 자율주행차, 스마트시티 등 미래를 견인하는 차세대 공간정보를 구축·서비스함으로써 데이터 경제와 4차 산업혁명의 주요담론을 이끌어 가고 있다. 국토지리정보원장을 맡기 전까지 국토연구원의 공간정보연구본부장과 국가공간정보위원회 위원으로서 지능정보사회의 대응한 차세대 국가공간정보 전략, 초연결 시대에 대응한 공간정보 정책 방향 등 폭넓은 미래를 제시하는 정책 연구를 진행해 왔다.
Hosang Sakong is the director general of National Geographic Information Institute, who emphasizes the new role of national spatial data platform for the quality and trust of the data standards as well as the growth impulse of future industry. He leads the discourses of data economy and 4th industrial revolution by establishing a new generation geodata system for the future technology such as autonomous-vehicle or smart city. Before joining the institute, Dr. Sakong has pursued a wide spectrum of research on national geographic data policy at the Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
